About Jérome Roy
Fascinated by the narrative power of cinema and television, Jérôme Roy began his professional journey as an actor, performing in theater, commercials, and voiceover work before transitioning to the musical side of the industry.
As a lifelong musician, he blends his artistic experience and sensitivity to character into expressive underscore and thematic writing. Known for his colorful, mystical, and lyrical style, Jérôme’s compositions help shape emotionally rich dramatic worlds, adding nuance and depth to every scene. His orchestral music has been featured in over 400 performances of three original multimedia shows: Dunort, Océanne, and Ficelle. Each project features its own musical identity with character-driven themes. In Dunort, piano-based instruments reflect each central character: the dreamer protagonist with celesta, his gentle love interest with piano, the ancient figure of Death with harpsichord—the piano’s ancestor—and the magical narrator with harp, evoking timelessness and wonder. Océanne is built around the delicate sound and rhythm of a music box, the emotional centerpiece of the story. Ficelle features a full orchestral score with catchy, song-driven moments in the spirit of classic Disney animation.
Jérôme holds a Bachelor’s degree in Music Composition from the University of Montréal and a Graduate Diploma in Film Scoring from UQAM. A member of SOCAN, SPACQ, and UDA, he is valued for his ability to listen, adapt, and work closely with directors to clearly translate their vision into music.
